Executive Director Announcement

During the April 29, 2024, Regular Board of Directors Meeting, the OPA Board of Directors appointed Dr. Kimberly Fricker as the new Executive Director.

Dr. Fricker has dedicated her career to the field of education and to the development of youth to become confident leaders of tomorrow.  Originally from Michigan, she earned a bachelor’s degree from Michigan Technological University, and a master’s degree in counseling. She also earned her doctoral degree in Urban Leadership from the University of Southern California in 2013.  She has experience in various roles including a science teacher, counselor for college and career preparation, a High School Principal, and Assistant Superintendent of K-12 Educational Services within the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District before ascending to the role of Superintendent.

During her 5-year tenure as Superintendent, Dr. Fricker focused on strategic planning with a keen eye on fiscal stewardship and integrating instruction with technology that included artificial intelligence by developing key partnerships with all stakeholders and community leaders. In addition, in her most recent role as Superintendent of the Rim of the World School District, she earned the California Sheriff Department “Commanders’ Award” and the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors “Mountain Hero” award for going above and beyond the call of her duty while navigating the Federal State of Emergency Blizzard that devastated the California Sierra Mountain communities in March of 2023.

The OPA community will have multiple opportunities to meet Dr. Fricker in the coming weeks, including an upcoming town hall.

Welcome to OPA Dr. Fricker!
