The Middle School hosted its first annual Career Day on Thursday, April 18.
Throughout the morning, each student had an opportunity to hear from 6 speakers working in 6 different industries. They learned about career paths, education requirements, and skills required for each career. Students also had an opportunity to ask questions and fully engage with each speaker.
Speakers at the event came from industries such as the medical field, law, mental health/therapy, technology, and education.
Learning about different careers in middle school introduces students to ideas and pathways they may not have known existed, expanding their view of possibilities. It can also help students understand how the concepts and ideas they are learning now in their curriculum relate to specific jobs they might pursue in the future, helping to create engagement in the classroom.
Thank you to all of our speakers for taking the time to speak with our students and share their experiences.
