Students designed creative booths featuring signage, brochures, business cards, stickers, buttons, and interactive sales pitches to engage customers. Each attendee received a VE debit card, enabling them to simulate real-world purchasing decisions by "buying" products showcased at the event. Participating businesses covered a wide range of industries, including:
- Glam Guard (women's jewelry with a safety component)
- Pet care products
- Food and beverages
- Sports memorabilia
- Home décor, candles, and plants
- Car care items
- A toothbrush with an app that identifies areas needing extra brushing
As an added bonus for the day, students toured the Financial Markets Lab, where they observed a live NYSE ticker displaying up-to-the-minute stock prices. This lab serves as a hands-on learning space for SDSU Finance students, equipped with Bloomberg Financial terminals offering real-time data on publicly traded companies.
The VE class also explored SDSU’s campus, including the Malcolm A. Love Library and the iconic Hepner Hall. Students concluded their visit at the Aztec Shops Bookstore, where many purchased SDSU merchandise, such as sweatshirts, lanyards, and water bottle stickers.
