Congratulations to the "Hack Huskies" who represented OPA in the Rube Goldberg World Championship at Purdue University last month! The duo had previously won at the regional level before advancing to the World Championship!
The Rube Goldberg Machine Contest (RGMC) is named after Rube Goldberg, a Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist, engineer, and inventor. Known for his humorous illustrations of overly complex machines, the contest celebrates his legacy by inspiring students worldwide to combine creativity with engineering. Contestants are tasked with creating elaborate machines to perform a simple, often humorous, task.
Our champions, who attend OPA-Saddleback Valley, also won the award for creativity for creating a machine to feed their pet piggy bank with coins.
Congratulations, Tara and Stuti! We are so proud of you!
