New Chief Academic Officer

Mrs. Maggie Burdette was appointed Chief Academic Officer (CAO) for Oxford Preparatory Academy during the regular Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

Mrs. Burdette joined the OPA family in 2023 as the Middle School Chancellor. During her short tenure at OPA, she has already played a pivotal role in building new programs such as Career Technical Education (CTE), Where Everyone Belongs (WEB), and an annual career day. Her commitment to collaboration, a student-centered approach, and fostering a dynamic learning environment has elevated the middle school to new heights.  

Prior to joining OPA, Mrs. Burdette built a successful career at the Tustin Unified School District. She brought with her a wealth of experience as a middle school principal, science teacher, activities director, and high school vice principal.

Mrs. Burdette holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Master's in Curriculum Development/ Administration from Concordia University.

Executive Director, Dr. Kimberly Fricker, expressed her enthusiasm for the appointment, stating “ Mrs. Berdette is an extremely dedicated, hardworking administrator who leads with integrity and compassion and keeps our students, staff, and families as the focus for everything she does. We are lucky to have her as a part of our team.”

Mrs. Burdette will continue in her role as Middle School Chancellor through the end of the school year and assume her new role as Chief Academic Officer on June 1, 2025.
